 2022 Preview 


       Providence Christian completed the 2021 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Providence Christian just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 3A region two with a 2-4 region record.

       Providence Christian was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Eagles want to be competitive. They only averaged 18.8 points a game.

       Since 2010, Providence Christian has gone a combined 79-51. Their 60.8% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 16 seasons, Providence Christian has managed to compile a record of 100-72. Their 58.0% winning percentage ranks 20th in Class 3A and 114th in the AHSAA.




       The Eagles are led by head coach Kenny Keith who is entering his eleventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 64-43 over the past ten seasons at Providence Christian. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Keith.

       Coach Keith's overall record as a head football coach in ten season stands at 64-43 (59.8%).

       The Providence Christian Eagles will play in Class 3A region two during the 2022 season.

       Overall, the region is among the weakest in the state. Qualifying for one of the playoffs spots could be a little easier. The Eagles will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region two this season. Providence Christian came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year.

       The Eagles open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Highland Home on Friday, August 19 at Providence Christian Stadium. Last year the Highland Home Flying Squadron finished with an overall record of 8-6 and in third place in Class 2A region three. The Flying Squadron lost in the semi-finals round of the Class 2A playoffs to Clarke County by a score of 42-21.

       Providence Christian and Highland Home have met a total of 3 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 0-3-0 record against the Flying Squadron. They last met in 2011 with Highland Home winning by a score of 21-17.
